VANCOUVER, BC - The RSport Rally Team has been preparing its rally car and planning its strategy as it gets set to enter the Bighorn Rally this coming weekend. The Bighorn Rally will be the 4th round in the 2005 Western Canadian Rally Championship (WCRC) and RSport Rally team members are currently leading the WCRC overall.

Just in time for this event the RSport Rally Team has been joined by noted lighting specialists PIAA and their Racing Products division. PIAA has become the latest automotive product partner with the team in their drive for the 2005 championship.

“Thanks mainly to PIAA Racing Products, we were able to run such a strong pace at the last event," said Rsport Rally Team driver Scott Trinder. "In the wet and muddy conditions at the Mountain Trials Rally their wipers helped us maintain attack mode, despite the horrendous conditions. The high quality of their products is quite apparent, and I eagerly anticipate trying their advanced lighting systems on the upcoming event's night time racing stages."

A strong and consistent performance has yielded the best possible results for the RSport Rally Team.

“So far 2005 has truly been an amazing season," stated Scott Trinder. "I am truly happy, yet still surprised that our team has done so well in the championship up to this point,” he said.

“I must admit that I did not expect we would have such a strong lead in the championship this early in the season," confided Rsport Rally Team co-driver Bill Westhead. "We were mainly striving for consistency and tried to run at the top of the pack in the last three championship rounds," he said. "What I find truly remarkable, however, is that Scott really has just four days of racing experience behind the wheel of our right hand drive rally car.”

Crew member line-up change is not expected to be a factor as co-driver/father rejoins the fray.

Just in time for the Bighorn Rally, Scott’s father Bob “Twiz” Trinder will be taking Westhead's place in the co-driver's seat. So far in 2005, Bob has been busy driving the Rsport Rally team's Subaru at select events in Western States Rally Championship this season. He and Scott have competed and won together many times in the past, so this co-driver substitution should be relatively seamless.
