2006 CACC Class Champions Scott Trinder and brother Adam both entered the first round of the 2007 CACC BC Autocross Championship this past weekend April 15, 2007 located at Boundary Bay Airport in Tsawassann BC. The event drew a field of close to 80 cars and entertained onlookers with constant motorsport action.

Younger brother Adam Trinder started the season with the same dominating style winning his class outright and posting some impressive times overall. A defective battery almost cut his day short but luck was on his side and he was able to get the car going before his run group completed the session.

Coming into round 1 as the SM-2 2006 Champion Scott faced some stiff competition. His class rivals were all running with serious performance modifications while Scott’s 72 240z was elevated into the class with just a racing cam. “Consistency pays – we won the championship last year and I plan to use the same strategy even though we have close to half the power of our rivals, our new Bridgestone Potenza RE750 tires will help at the rainy events. We are testing the RE750’s for the Targa Newfoundland Rally, which will be held this September. Targa’s conditions require a strong all around performance tire and the Potenza RE750 fits into this category very well,” Said Scott.

The RSport Rally team hopes to further improve on their times once the new Bridgestone R compound tires are available in the 15” tire size. “I am looking forward to running on the new Bridgestone tires if the performance of their high end street and rally tires is any indication we should be able to compete on an even playing field with the others in our class running on other DOT slicks,” mentions Scott.

Round 2 of the CACC Championship will be held on Sunday May 6th at the Boundary Bay facility.
