RSport Rally driver Bob Trinder & Navigator Andy White Completed the Doo Wop rally series 1st in the Production GT class.
This year’s event was held in Hoquiam 45 minutes west of Olympia, Washington. 44 teams entered the event. RSport Rally entered a 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS.
Day 1: Fresh grading on the competitive sections prevented stage records from being broken this year. The day was virtually uneventful for the RSport team. Some time was lost coming into one of the days chicanes as Bob was sucked into the loose grading on the edge of the road, preventing the car from turning in. "We were lucky that we stopped short of the chicane, the penalty for hitting it would have been 1 minute,” says Bob. Loosing 30 seconds trying to restart the car was a factor in the day’s results. Bob completed Saturday 2nd in PGT.
Day 2: Once again fresh grading on the roads kept last year’s stage time records intact. "The stages were fabulas, the car ran flawlessly and we were fortunate to win our class,” says Andy.
The Next event for the team will be the RIM of the World Pro Rally. Scott will be driving for Knight Motorsports Inc. with father Bob in the navigators seat. For more information on the Knight Motorsports team log onto: www.knightmotorsportsinc.com.
