RSport Rally driver Scott Trinder and co-driver Bob Trinder won the Mountain Trials Rally Overall and moved into the overall lead of the Western Canadian Rally Championship ahead of higher-powered competitors in the unlimited "Open" class. This event also saw RSport Rally secure the Western Canadian P4 production class championship.

Mountain Trials was held in Merritt, BC on October 5, 2002. The event drew many of Western Canada’s best rally drivers and some of the top Group 2 drivers from the US.

Going into the final round of the Championship in Alberta, BC (Kananaskis) the RSport Rally team has a 4 -point lead over their nearest rival. Kananaskis will be a challenging event, as Scott has never competed in it before. There are two other local teams that can mathematically win the Western Rally Championship at Kananaskis. "Kananaskis will be an all out drive for overall honors!" Says Scott.

Kananaskis is an ice rally with many blind crests. The event will be held on November 10th and should draw a competitive field.
