RSport Rally driver Scott Trinder and co-pilot Robert Trinder will be heading to Alberta this November 10th, 2002 for the Kananaskis Rally.
The Kananaskis Rally based in Kananaskis, Alberta is the last round of the 2002 Western Canadian Rally Championship. The event is known for its blind crests and ice. The weather conditions make tire choice the paramount factor in a team’s success.
"I ran this event last year in my Corolla. We were on rally tires. Even though 80% of the surface was gravel, the 20% of ice took away more than 80% of the perceived advantage. This year we will run in Scott's car with the snow/ice tires." says Bob.
RSport Rally won the 2002 Western Canadian Rally Championship in the Production (4) class at the Mountain Trials Rally held on October 5, 2002. The team also won the Mountain Trials overall. Coming into Kananaskis the RSport Rally team leads the 2002 Western Canadian Rally Championship overall by a mere 4 points. " It will be a tough event. There is no dought that local knowledge is a huge advantage on these roads. Roads that have numerous blind crests." says Scott
