RSport Rally on podium at Pacific Forest Rally!

RSport Rally team completes the Pacific Forest Rally 3rd overall in their production class Subaru Impreza!

Despite a 10-minute penalty and 3 flat tires RSport Rally finished the Pacific Forest Rally on the podium!

Entering stage 2 the Trinder’s checked in 1 minute behind car# 2 who checked in 1 minute behind car# 1. The problem? Car # 1 checked into the stage 10 minutes early. Subsequently the top three cars started the rally with a 10-minute penalty.

RSport Rally navigator Bob Trinder calculated that the team would have to average 50 seconds per stage faster than the rest of the field to complete the rally on the podium. The team managed to make up over 7 minutes of the 10 minutes lost. As the rally was running late the last 2 stages were cancelled and the team finished the event in 3rd place!

“We were pushing to make up the time, and suffered from 3 punctures throughout the day. The road grading was made up of big jagged rocks,” says Scott.

The team drove: 6km on stage 2 with a flat tire, 8km on stage 5, and on stage 10 they drove the entire stage with a flat after the first corner! “Scott was driving fast with the flats, we could not afford to lose any additional time” says, Bob.

The Pacific Forest Rally was round 4 of the Western Canadian Rally Championship. The event was held in Merritt, BC this June 8, 2002
