RSport Rally driver, Scott Trinder won the second round of the WCRA
rally cross series held at the Interfor log sort yard in Squamish, BC
this past Saturday May 15, 2004. Scott drove a consistent event, in a
completely stock non-turbo Subaru Legacy 2.5GT. The RSport Rally driver
even managed to use the family "grocery-getter" to beat 2 fully
prepared WRX rally cars entered in the event.
“Overall it was a great day. Warwick, Adrienne, Peter, Paul, and Dennis
all did a great job in organizing this event. I would like to thank
Driving Sports magazine for their support of the event and their
generous prize donation. I would also like to thank my co-driver, Bill
Westhead, for allowing me to use his car at the event, ” said Scott.
RSport Rally driver Scott Trinder is considering his options for the
2004 season and may run select rounds of the 2004 Western Canadian Rally
Championship. He is also pursuing a variety of opportunities to compete
again as a series regular in 2005.
Meanwhile, RSport Rally’s primary event plan and budget for 2004 has
been allocated to the www.TargaNewfoundland.com event where team driver
Bob “Twiz” Trinder and co-driver/son Adam Trinder will be enter the
team's 1986 ex-works Toyota Corolla GTS. RSport Rally will be entered as
part of a three car effort at this year's Targa Newfoundland Event. The
team will include Open Road Auto Group president Christian Chia, also
piloting a 1986 Corolla GTS, and Tom Lambert from the UK who will be
entered in a purpose-built Davrien tarmac rally car.
