RSport Rally is pleased to announce the team’s entry of 3 cars at the upcoming Targa Newfoundland event. Targa is a paved rally that will take 50 competitive teams and 40 touring teams throughout the entire province of Newfoundland covering 2200 km of competitive stage roads from September 11th to the 19th 2004. RSport Rally has entered its 1986 Bridgestone Toyota Corolla GTS driven by Marathon rally winner Bob Trinder and co-driven by son Adam Trinder. Car 2 is the 1986 Open Road Auto Group Toyota Corolla GTS of Christian Chia and navigator Bill Westhead. Car 3 driven by Tom Lambert from England is a Davrien Cosworth.
“I am very confident in our team. Bob has a very real chance of a top position at the event, however, Tom Lambert in the Davrien is predicted by our team to secure overall honors as the car is one that has dominated competitive pavement events in England and Tom is strictly a pavement expert,” says Scott Trinder.
RSport Rally would like to welcome Bridgestone Tires back as one of the team’s key sponsors. Bridgestone has sponsored our team since 1986, playing a significant role in the CANAMEX Marathon Rally, which RSport Rally driver Bob Trinder and navigator John Moody won overall for the BC Toyota Dealer Network. Bridgestone also lead the team to a 6th place finish in the 1997 Panama Alaska Marathon Rally.
