RSport Rally driver Scott Trinder and navigator Bob Trinder dominated their class at the Wild West International Pro Rally held this September 6th & 7th. The team finished the event 1st in class over 7 minutes ahead of their nearest rival!
The teams result could not have been secured without the great job completed by Richmond Auto Body Collision Plus after the car rolled at Oregon Trail. The car even looked pristine with its new decal package from Ad-Print “the decal people” “We are extremely thankful to these sponsors who did an incredible job with the car,” says Bob.
Drama occurred on stage 5 when Scott clipped the inside of a hairpin left and flipped up onto 2 wheels. “The car was at a 45’ angle and was very close to going over. Scott steered out of it and we did not loose much time,” says Bob. Photo Links:
On stage 7 the team found themselves off course not knowing how this happened. Banner tape at two parallel “medium” left turns was down. “Our notes said don’t cut – this means at speed you stay on line and pass what it is you are not supposed to cut. In this case the smaller forest road at the don’t cut was the correct way to go. A front-runner had gone through and knocked down the yellow banner tape across the second road. The stage was run a second time in the afternoon and the RSport team went 1m10sec faster without the off course excursion. The time lost cost the team a top ten finish.
Total Autosport serviced for RSport Rally at the event. “Ken, Bill, Jamie and August did an amazing job. The entire crew were totally pro and completed all of our servicing needs well within the 20minute time window,” says Scott. “The total crew played a pivotal role in our win this weekend. After each service the car was transformed back into top shape, allowing us to focus on other areas within the rally,” says Bob
The next event for RSport Rally is Mountain Trials scheduled to run this September 27th. The team currently leads their class in the Western Canadian Rally Championship.
